Elk are not harmed to make Elk Antler Dog Chews. Elk Antlers fall off or "shed" every spring. Elk begin to grow a new pair almost immediately and they keep them until the following spring when the cycle starts over again. There is marrow inside the antlers that interests dogs. It is not a strong smell to humans luckily, but dogs can pick up the scent.
Elk Antlers do no splinter like cow bones. As dogs chew them, the antler slowly wears down. When the antler gets too small, please take it away from the dog and throw it away so that it does not become a choking hazard.
Split Elk Antler Dog Chews - Good for dogs who are lazy to average chewers, puppies or senior dogs. The marrow is easy to get and easily rewarding.
Whole Elk Antler Dog Chews - Good for dogs who are heavy chewers that "chew through everything" or "destroy indestructible toys". Dogs want to get to the marrow inside the antler. They have to gnaw the antler down to get more.
Choose an antler size based on the dog's weight. We have Elk Antler Dog Chews available in every size for dogs weighing 5 pounds to 205 pounds.

Note: A Large Whole Elk Antler and a Large Split Elk Antler will weigh roughly the same. A Large Split Elk Antler is not half of a Large Whole Elk Antler.
